Fast Lane receives purchase orders for quantities for under 10 parts to as high as 100’s of thousands. No matter what the quantity we always produce an over run. Depending on several factors such as estimated annual usage, how long the part has been produced, cost of material, processing cost, machine cycle time, this planned over run will vary. These parts are bagged, tagged and stored. Some say this practice is risky, and they are right. Due to revision and/or demand changes sometimes these inventory parts become scrap.
