Tooling

From our big shell mills to our tiny .006 diameter carbide drills we keep a selection of common cutting tools in our tool crib. When a purchase order is received, a tooling list is generated. Special tools are ordered, common tools are allocated and the production process begins. For new jobs this list is open to change as it’s dialed in. It is not unusual for us to try different tool manufactures and geometries as the production run evolves. Once satisfied with the setup we document tooling, special tooling and fixtures are identified and stored. This procedure ensures repeat orders produce the same part time after time.
